Visions of Christmas: 1858 - Saturday, 2-6p.m. Join the Haynes family as they celebrate an antebellum Christmas. Holiday music, refreshments, and activities in the museum for children. Admission charged.

"Hoofbeats in the Heartland" - Reception on Friday from 5:00-6:30p.m. for this special exhibit from the Tennessee State Museum focusing on the use and importance of Calvary in Tennessee during the Civil War in November and December. Call for details.

Stories from the Pumpkin Patch - Saturday, 4-8p.m. Listen to stories around a bonfire or in the cave, take a hayride around the grounds, activities for children during daylight hours. Enjoy a hot dog roast with all the trimmings. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and spend the evening. Admission charged.

Bluegrass and Sorghum Making Festival - Saturday, 5-9p.m. Watch and help make sorghum. Enjoy dinner cooked over an open fire while listening to good bluegrass music. Admission fee.

Summers Past History Program - June 9 to July 25- Six sessions Monday through Fridat from 9a.m. to 2p.m. where dhildren age 6-12 learn about their local history through historic based crafts, archaeology, games, music, storytelling, and trips to the cave. Learn to Spin Wool - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wash, tease, card, and spin fleece using a drop spindle. Learn the basics of the wool wheel. Make a small project with your spun yarn. Donations support Educational Programs at the site.
